Tanya Black's Portfolio Project
During the CareerFoundry Intro to UI Design Course, you’ll build out a job-ready project for your portfolio. Here is a graduate Tanya’s travel app project.
What inspired you to make a career change into this field?
I was doing a graphic design course, and my brother told me about UI/UX design. So I looked into it, and I shadowed the UI designer who works at the same company as my brother. I fell in love with it, so I decided to take an online course to learn UI and found CareerFoundry!
What did you enjoy most about the CareerFoundry Intro to UI Design Course?
I think what I enjoyed the most was definitely the content of the course, and the way it’s taught. I also really enjoyed talking with my mentor on our video calls; she’s really awesome and gave me a lot more knowledge about the field. The course is just a really great one and I would definitely recommend it!
What did you enjoy about creating your CareerFoundry portfolio project?
I am very creative, so I really enjoyed the creativity of the project. As an intro course project, it’s not super flexible, but there are little things that you can get creative with to make it a little more personalized.
With regards to your new career and skills, what are your hopes for the future?
Once I finish the immersion and specialization courses with CareerFoundry, I’m hoping to get a UI design job at a company and just keep moving up the ranks until I can get a really good remote UI/UX design job. Then, at some point I want to go off on my own and do freelance UI design.
